DANCING IN THE RAIN (C)1995 Jason Kessler - Still Life It was a cold September morning The rain was pouring down I saw her wandering aimlessly through the streets She looks at her reflection in the puddles on the ground Kicks the image right square in the face She runs away .. Screaming .. Crying .. Crying... On that same September morning A young man watched from his window He knocks the pictures from his wall Wishes he was worthy of her now .. Worthy of her now .. And maybe all she needs is .. Someone like him to hold her when she is blue .. And maybe all he needs is .. Her to say .. I love you What Can I do to take away your pain Could let it wash away while we are dancing in the rain Hold on to me, don't let me go till we see the morning sun Hold on to hope and this could be .. a dream .. now reality ...... reality A year has gone by now, and he never found the strength to say Exactly what was on his heart. He walks to her there as she is standing in the rain With the words on the tip of his tounge She turns and utters .. I love you While the blood from her wrists flows Down the gutter Down .. Pours Down I stood there holding her in the rain Screaming to God..... No !!! No !!! I still see you, your dancing in the rain I can taste the rain on my tounge Sometimes at night, I lie awake and I cry Wishing you had'nt gone If only I had the strength to tell you If only I could say What could I do to take away you pain I just lay there holding her in the pouring rain Holding her close as I watched her fade away She just lay there crying in the pouring rain
